In the last day I got about 60 new followers, I am glad you all like my blog! Remember to always follow your dreams, no matter what anyone tells you. I have learned from aspiring to be a female in science people WILL try to get you down. But your dreams are more important than the words of the ignorant.

Since there are a lot of you undoubtedly who know nothing about me, I’m going to give a brief biography.

I am a senior in high school who absolutely loves science, mainly physics, astronomy and mathematics. I aspire to become an engineer who specializes in space technology :)

I also stand firmly for equality. Gender equality, racial equality, equality regardless of sexual orientation. Simply; equality for all. There may occasionally be posts regarding feminism, racism or other political issues. But please don’t be scared away!

If there’s anything else anyone wants to know, let me know. I’d be glad to answer any questions.

Keep calm and science on :)

The escape of one’s mind is what occurs when one simply looks up and sees the specks of dust sprinkled along the horizon and all over the blackness. Thoughts seem to flow better; dreams seem to materialize in our minds eye. Breathing comes as easy as the beauty beheld by the sight overhead. It’s those simple seconds that everything is put into proper perspective. From there we venture with insight. From there we leave as beholders of the night, hoping one day to touch stardust. Perhaps venturing even to becoming it.

So the idea is pretty great; “you only live once” (so live it up.) Though people seriously take it the wrong way. Like “I’m going to smoke weed cause YOLO” or “I am dating him because he likes me and why not, YOLO!” or “I’m going to give up on education and do what I want cause YOLO!”

In theory, YOLO could be a great self motivation tool. For example: if you tell yourself that you should learn a new language for self betterment since you only live once and should try to make the best of it so that you can eventually live your dream of living where you want or travelling where you want and getting the full experience. Another example: pushing yourself in school to achieve your goals and realize your true aspirations because you only live once, why not make the best of your time and do what makes you happy?

(just used random examples from my life, though there are MANY others that can be used based upon personal adaptation)

So what do you do to fulfill your life and make it the best you possibly can?

I’d love to know :)

I’ve known I want to be an aerospace engineer, but I never really thought of what I’d do with that degree. Lately; I have lost my hope in NASA and have been thinking quite a lot about the commercial space industry and how far it is going to go (probably in the near future.)

What if started my own aerospace company?

I would definitely focus on lunar colonization. It has been constantly contemplated and I know it can be done. I have so many ideas on what I could do. I have sketches, diagrams, write ups. But I never realized until now that I could actually make something of this goal.

If lunar colonization doesn’t occur, I’m going to be the woman who makes it happen. Whether I work for NASA or my own aerospace engineering company it will happen.

(Even if it has already happened by the time I have my degree and I’m done with college I will expand the field and make it everything I want it to be.)

  • Exercise (and enough to lose at least 10 pounds, hopefully 15)
  • Get a reasonable tan
  • Read, a lot. (I will need book suggestions, I like science fiction)
  • Once I get my SAT scores, figure out what to improve and practice it.
  • Watch Cosmos (again)
  • Drink at least a cup of tea a day :)
  • Learn, about anything and everything!

"So this is my life. And I am both happy and sad and I’m trying to figure out how that could be. Please believe things are good with me, and even when they’re not, they will be soon enough."
